Tinted licence plate covers won’t shield you from a ticket, police say

This product, called a "smoke license plate shield" is sold at Canadian Tire. The packaging said it's for "offroad/showroom use only." Police say it's driver's responsibility to ensure any plate cover on their car complies with the law.

The Ontario Provincial Police are reminding drivers that licence plate covers that make it difficult to read the plate in any way, could result in a ticket.
